Job Description:

Accurate and meaningful data is foundational to supporting the critical mission of Brown University community engagement. The Data Quality Control Manager role supports these efforts through the identification, evaluation, and resolution of data hygiene/integrity issues, ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal and external reports sourced from Advancement.  Data managed by this team includes identity information (such as name, gender, ethnicity, etc.), contact information, relationships, educational information, student involvements and awards, contact preferences, and many other data points that impact an individual or organization’s relationship with the Brown community.

This position partners with the Assistant Director, Data Management to perform data integrity assessments, verify and maintain records in the Advancement enterprise database, and complete special research projects as requested. Key tasks include working with partners in Research and Prospect Management as well as Advancement Marketing, reviewing data integrity reporting, and working with campus partners such as the offices of the Registrar and University Parent and Family Engagement to ensure accurate fund and constituent data and business continuity.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a related field, such as constituent management, data management, data services, or financial data field

Required Qualifications

  • Experience, understanding and command of procedural work in reference to databases and quality control required
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel for data management purposes required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Nonprofit or Higher Ed experience desired.
  • Experience with CRM systems is desired; preference for experience with Blackbaud CRM or Raiser’s Edge
