Brown University — Assistant Director of Student Health Insurance Operations

Job Description:

The Assistant Director of Student Health Insurance Operations is responsible for managing all aspects of the University’s Student Health Insurance Program (SHIP). This position supports over 4,000 students enrolled in SHIP as well as multiple internal departments who are supporting their in-person and online cohorts. The Assistant Director of Student Health Insurance Operations manages the insurance waiver process for over 10,000 students annually as well as the Student Dental Insurance Program.

With the continued enrollment growth of the University, this position is also responsible for understanding and supporting students’ insurance requirements relating to a population with increased complex health needs. The Assistant Director of Student Health Insurance Operations is also responsible for managing all contracts and Professional Services Agreements for the Health & Wellness departments.

Job Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 3-5 years closely related experience. Masters degree preferred.
  • Experience in higher education preferred.
  • Health insurance administration and financial experience desirable.
