Brown University — Administrative HR Coordinator

Job Description:

This position is responsible for coordinating and managing all Human Resource activities for the department of Neuroscience. Provides high level HR administrative, and organizational coordination and support for Postdocs, staff, students, & faculty level positions. Serves as a primary point of contact for OISSS and handles the visa process from start to finish. Maintains the Neuroscience personnel database, manages all hiring and HR activities for the department, manages the postdoc and faculty appointment and reappointment process, manages all administrative systems and records for personnel, & provides overall support for the Neuroscience HR needs.  Also provides support to the Department Manager and works with the Finance Manager to reconcile departmental accounts.


Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s required with 1-2 years administrative experience
  • Experience in service-oriented environment is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Programs (Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint), Google docs, sheets, & calendar, and in FileMaker) preferred
  • Previous experience in an academic or research environment preferred
  • or equivalent combination of education/experience
