Position Purpose
The Administrative Coordinator provides a full range of high-level administrative support for the Principles of Economics course, functioning as the course organizer to ensure the course operates efficiently and professionally.
This position provides administrative support to assigned faculty members and ad-hoc department projects assigned by the Academic Department Manager (ADM). Additional responsibilities include providing website and social media support as well as assisting with financial functions.
The Administrative Coordinator has a comprehensive understanding of departmental issues and how they support the research and teaching mission.
Education and Experience
- Associates degree and 3 years related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and planning skills.
- Proficiency in office technologies and web-based applications as well as experience with or strong interest in teaching and learning technologies.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office ie., computing proficiency with advanced word processing, spreadsheet and database skills, e-mail and web searching skills. Familiarity with platforms Canvas, CAB, Cognos, piazza, Mindtap, Mindlink, Google Workspace, Desktop publishing tools such as Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator preferred
- Discretion with confidential information with sound judgment and follow-through.
- Must be able to effectively prioritize assigned work against multiple deadlines and have the capacity to respond and adapt to last-minute changes.
- Must be a quick learner, self-starter and possess a strong commitment to continuous process improvement.
- The incumbent must be able to adapt to fluctuations in workload.
- Demonstrated ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment.
