Job Description:

Reporting to the Director, Recruitment and Staffing Operations, the Sr Talent Acquisition specialist will manage the recruitment process including the creation of recruitment strategies, sourcing including job boards, social media (LinkedIn Recruiter, Twitter, Facebook, etc.), networking, and traditional canvassing to fill open staff positions at the University in supporting qualified and diverse candidate pools.  This position will collaborate with the unit’s Human Resources Business Partners (HBBP) and managers to assist with cultivating candidates based upon qualifications and key skill sets for positions within similar job families.   This position will assist in the creation of standardizing processes for similar job families such as research administration positions, using competencies and skills in developing a checklist for job postings.

The Sr Talent Acquisition Specialist helps to create and refine strategies that enable our managers to recruit talent across units with similar job families including hard to fill positions such as research administrative openings.  This position supports the University’s diversity, inclusion and belonging efforts as an integrated approach to the strategic plans across campus, advertising jobs such as research based openings to different organizations, schools, social media, etc to ensure a broad diversified outreach while ensuring the diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies and principles are incorporated throughout the steps in the hiring process, from pipeline development to hire; recommending creative and results-oriented ideas to cultivate a diverse pipeline.

This position will work closely with the University’s HRBP community along with the University’s Recruitment and Staffing Operations team; the University’s Compensation and Benefits teams to establish a seamless, efficient hiring experience while reducing time to fill.   This position is actively engaged in a collaborative, positive team atmosphere where creativity along with exceptional communication and relationship building are an integral part of this role to understand the objectives and staffing needs for specific practice areas.

Major Responsibilities:
Actively search and engage in cultivating potential candidates for staff positions.
Supporting Actions:
Develops sourcing strategies and methodologies for talented and diverse candidates through creative methods such as job posting, on-line databases, social media, internal databases, alumni, employee referrals, networking,  competitor research, etc.

Researches, identifies, evaluates, and implements the use of effective diversity recruiting resources, tools and sourcing techniques.  Consistently updates applicant-tracking system in a timely manner.

Maintains a strong pipeline of candidates to effectively meet hiring needs and business initiatives.  Proactively monitors and evaluates applicant pool and recalibrates sourcing strategy as needed.  Seeks to develop a future pipeline of interest in positions such as research administration jobs.

Conducts initial intake and recruitment strategy meetings with HRBP’s and hiring managers, with regular follow-up and progress updates.  Partners with hiring managers to generate ideas, leverage resources, and share information that facilitates effective searches.  May engage with a debrief session with hiring teams as needed.

Understand the University’s brand, culture and total value proposition in support of hiring strategies.

Provide data and metrics on search and sourcing effectiveness.
Supporting Actions:
Utilize the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to ensure appropriate compliance and record keeping

Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports through Workday and social media (LinkedIn Recruiter, CareerArc, etc.)

Using metrics and data to analyze market conditions and trends. Collect and analyze information and data to evaluate the effectiveness of recruiting efforts, providing valuable input aimed at continuously improving our recruiting efforts; monitor the competitive external markets.

Collaborate with the University Human Resources (UHR) team in pre-boarding activities.
Supporting Actions:
Collaborate with the Recruitment Staffing team to assist with a seamless pre-boarding candidate experience.  Understand the ATS to hiring steps within Brown’s applicant tracking system.  Seek out opportunities to increase engagement and process improvements.  Leverage system enhancements and tools to improve candidate experience.  Provide feedback on candidate experience and surveys to inform decision making.

Participate on project teams and other duties as assigned within UHR to update systems, enhancements based upon external market conditions.
Supporting Actions:
Active engagement to participate on various projects within University Human Resources.  University Human Resources manages several projects throughout the year and this position will have the ability to participate on projects to increase awareness in understanding the culture and key strategic priorities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of recruiting experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter and various social media platforms to engage with potential candidates, identifying creative sourcing and recruitment methods
  • Ability to articulate the employee value proposition and total rewards package
  • Experience using an applicant tracking system such as Workday
  • Knowledge of recruiting practices and principles, employment laws and regulations
  • Understand and support the development and deployment of the Employer brand strategies and total rewards
  • Foster collaboration and ensure fair, compliant, and equitable employment practices
  • Ability to work in a fast environment with competing priorities while paying attention to detail
  • Experience working successfully within a complex matrix structured organization
  • Strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills with a high degree of engagement and collaboration
  • Engagement in support of a team environment with the ability to effectively communicate
