Aurora University (AU), located in the western suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, is seeking candidates for a new Dean of the School of Nursing. The successful candidate will be an innovative, inclusive, and collaborative leader who will build on the outstanding reputation of the School of Nursing within the region and the state. As a comprehensive independent university, AU is distinguished for its commitment to students and their success and “working at the intersection of hope and need.” With nursing as the second largest program in the State of Illinois, and the largest undergraduate major, the new leader of the School of Nursing will build on the mission and vision of the University to lead the School to exciting innovative opportunities and partnerships to address the educational needs of a diverse population of students who practice and serve in the community.

This critical position reports to the Dean of the College of Health and Sciences and serves as part of the expanded Academic Affairs Leadership Team. The successful candidate will possess the vision, creativity, and collaborative skills to lead into the future and work effectively with other leaders within the College of Health and Sciences and across the University. The Dean for the School of Nursing will possess outstanding communication and administrative skills, employing innovative and agile strategic thinking in assessing opportunities, challenges, and planning for new markets/programs in navigating strategic direction for the school in alignment with the University strategic plan.
