Job Description:

The Coordinator for Lifelong Learning Experiences is responsible for developing and supporting the engagement strategy efforts of the Alumni Experiences team’s Lifelong Learning programs, specifically with regard to faculty and alumni speakers.  The Coordinator works with the Director and others in the Alumni Experiences team to implement a faculty and alumni speaker program that offers a rich and diverse collection of speakers who can engage with groups locally, globally, and virtually, with an emphasis on focus areas of current importance to the University. A highly collaborative individual, the Coordinator also works with teams that focus on generational programming, alumni clubs, affinity groups, shared interest groups, and events. The Coordinator is responsible for designing, implementing and supporting numerous all-constituency virtual events that will serve as a hallmark of our Lifelong Learning Experiences program as we help Brown alumni explore their intellectual curiosity.

Required Qualifications

  • Competency in the full Google suite of products, along with ability to find, use and master new technology.
  • Must have working knowledge of Eventbrite, Zoom, and other virtual event platforms.
  • Must be a creative self-starter with the ability to think strategically, possess superior people skills, and be able to juggle many highly sensitive issues and tasks at once.
  • This position requires an enthusiastic, positive, can-do attitude with a creative and innovative approach
  • Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends, as well as travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Brown alum and/or prior experience working with Brown faculty preferred

Job Competencies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with finesse interacting with faculty, senior administration, and high profile alumni.
  • Extremely detail-oriented while always keeping an eye toward the larger goal and demonstrated commitment to maintaining the highest standards.
  • Excellent customer relations skills and a high level of tact and discretion is required.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience (development, nonprofit, education, event planning and support, etc.)
