Baruch College — Lecturer of Graphic Communication

Job Description:
The Fine and Performing Arts Department at Baruch College seeks an experienced college teacher for a full-time lecturer position in graphic communication beginning Fall 2023. This is one of several searches the Department is conducting this year.

Applicants must be able to teach graphic communication fundamentals as well as upper-level classes in areas such as typography, publication design, design production, identity design, web design, or professional practices.

The successful candidate is eligible for a Certificate of Continuous Employment after five years of successful employment. Responsibilities include teaching, curriculum development, advisement, and service to the department and college. There is no expectation of research or publication.

All CUNY employees must reside within a commutable distance to the tri-state area.

Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment.

Bachelor’s degree in area(s) of expertise, the ability to teach successfully, and the ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution. MA preferred.

Candidates should be committed to student-centered teaching excellence, with experience in creative assignments, teaching tools, and assessments. All degree requirements must be met by the beginning of the 2023-24 academic year. We especially welcome applications from candidates engaged in high-quality pedagogy in at least two of the three modalities of in-person, hybrid, and online-only.

$67,684 – $79,170; commensurate with qualifications and experience.
