The Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine is looking to recruit a full-time academic Adolescent Medicine physician at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank into a Health Sciences Clinical Professor or Clinical X series. Candidates will be expected to engage the advancement of our Department’s mission through the participation in clinical care, medical student/resident/fellow education, as well as engage in departmental/ institutional service, committees, and/or scholarly endeavors. Dedicated research time will be provided for applicants approved for research promotional track. 

UC Davis Department of Pediatrics is looking to expand our current adolescent medicine service into a blossoming Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine consisting of three core faculty members. The recruited faculty member will join our current Adolescent Medicine physician to care for a rapidly growing adolescent patient population in our Outpatient Hospital- Based Adolescent and Young Adult Consult Clinic. Our adolescent and young adult clinic provides compassionate, developmentally appropriate, and psycho-socially grounded care for a large population of complex AYA patients presenting with a large diversity of mental and physical health needs. As a referral-based clinic, we provide high-quality care for a variety of health conditions, including but not limited to the comprehensive and patient-centered care for Eating Disorders, Gender Health/LGBTQ+ Health, Mental Health, and Reproductive Health Services. This faculty member will join a highly collegial and collaborative Department and have the opportunity to engage in a variety of existing multidisciplinary clinics that are currently run- in collaboration with the Divisions of Endocrinology as well as Gastroenterology. In addition, UC Davis is a Level 1 Regional Trauma Center with opportunities for inpatient consultation on a myriad of adolescent health issues. There are also additional future opportunities to expand to Adolescent Primary Care Services within our Hospital Based Primary Care Clinic and affiliated FQHC sites. 

Candidates must have the following experience/qualifications: 

  • M.D. or D.O.
  • Successful completion of an ACGME Accredited Residency Training Program (Board Certified/Board Eligible)
  • Successful completion of an ACGME Accredited Adolescent Medicine Fellowship Training Program at the time of hire
  • Board certification/eligibility in Adolescent Medicine
  • Eligibility for a California Medical License
  • Ability to foster collegiality and work collaboratively in a diverse environment

It is the only designated Children’s Hospital in the Sacramento region, and is known for offering comprehensive, compassionate, family-centered care. UC Davis Children’s Hospital is distinguished for its outstanding congenital heart program and its internationally recognized telemedicine programs. Within the last few years, UC Davis Children’s Hospital built a new 49- bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and a new 24-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit/Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.
