The Assistant Director, Foundation and Corporate Relations, will work with the Senior Director, Foundation and Corporate Relations, to support and implement all aspects of Pomona College’s fundraising initiatives from private foundations and corporations. The Assistant Director will manage a portfolio of foundations and corporations whose missions align with the Pomona College campaign priorities. The Assistant Director will work with various College constituencies (financial aid, business office, academic departments, dean’s offices) to create, implement, and oversee systems and procedures that support the function of the Office of Foundation and Corporate Relations and will work closely with Advancement colleagues on shared objectives. In coordination with the Senior Director, the Assistant Director will prepare stewardship and financial reports to foundation donors, draft, route and track time-sensitive letters for signature, and will assist with scheduling meetings, developing agendas, and help to organize foundation site visits and events. The Assistant Director will research new foundation prospects, prepare smaller proposals in collaboration with the Senior Director, focusing especially on building the College’s corporate relations program.  

A key responsibility of the Assistant Director is to maintain the data underpinnings of the Office, i.e., to enter data relevant to gift processing, tracking and reporting using Raisers Edge. The Assistant Director is responsible for accounting and maintaining budgets, as well as some administrative duties. This is a full-time, exempt position that reports to the Senior Director, Foundation and Corporate Relations.

Bachelor’s Degree required. Minimum three years of fundraising experience (preferably from foundations and corporations), ideally in higher education; or combination of foundation, corporate, NGO, and other relevant fundraising experience. Financial and accounting background a plus.

The regular hours for this full-time position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.  Weekend and evening work may be required.  Regular hours may vary due to needs of the College or division.
