DePauw University — Assistant Professor of Kinesiology

The Department of Kinesiology at DePauw University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in Kinesiology to begin in August 2023. A Ph.D. in Kinesiology by the time of appointment is preferred; ABD will be considered. A commitment to teaching undergraduate students and evidence of effective teaching are essential along with a commitment to inclusive pedagogy and high-impact practices in teaching and learning. Candidates must be able to contribute to teaching in the subdisciplines of biomechanics or motor control and behavior. We are especially interested in candidates who can offer support teaching in one or more additional departmental areas related to introductory courses in kinesiology, sport and exercise psychology, mentoring student thesis research, or developing courses related to an area of expertise in the field. Candidates should have an innovative research agenda that engages undergraduate scholars in the field of kinesiology and exercise science.

This position includes employee health and retirement benefits, mentoring, and faculty development funding. The teaching responsibilities include 4-6 courses per year (i.e. range varies depending on laboratory course load in a given academic year).
