The Office of Research Integrity (ORI) at Brown University partners with the research community to facilitate ethical research guided by governing policies and regulations. ORI provides oversight of human and animal subjects research, financial conflicts of interest, and use of human embryonic stem cells in research. It also reviews allegations of research misconduct and other reports of research-related noncompliance, and promotes integrity in scholarship by administering one of Brown’s responsible conduct of research programs. ORI also administers the University’s export control compliance program, and serves as a centralized resource to support the responsible management and sharing of research data.


We are looking for a Research Compliance Analyst who will be a key contributor  to Brown’s Conflict of Interest (COI) program. The Research Compliance Analyst will facilitate annual and ad hoc faculty COI reporting and disclosure, triage and review cases involving potential conflicts of interest and conflicts of commitment, support the Conflict of Interest Review Board (COIRB), record meeting minutes, and implement and monitor conflict management plans. The Research Compliance Analyst keeps abreast of developing regulations in this area and assists the Assistant Director of COI with the development of educational and training materials and on conflict of interest. The Research Compliance Analyst also liaises with other offices within the University to manage non-research related conflicts. In addition, the Research Compliance Analyst will support for Brown’s Research Integrity program, providing assistance to Research Misconduct proceedings.



  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years related experience, or equivalent of education and work experience.


  • Experience working in an academic or related setting.
  • Experience working in a conflict of interest program or related research compliance area advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability with interpretation of regulations, laws, bills and statutes that impact research environments.

  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office; precision and accuracy in data entry and written communications; exceptional oral and written communication skills are required.
  • The Research Compliance Analyst must be able to collaborate with individuals at all different levels of the organization with a high level of diplomacy and professionalism and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Must be able to operate specialized software (e.g., InfoEd, Huron) with proficiency or have the ability to learn.
  • Demonstrated ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment.
