Job Description:


Incumbent is responsible for managing a variety of communication, cultivation, stewardship, relationship building, and informational activities and programs that serve and engage alumni, parents, and friends of the medical school. The candidate will develop, write, edit, and design proposals, letters, reports, articles, briefings, and promotional materials. Incumbent will develop volunteer programs to increase alumni and student participation in cultivation activities. All key job responsibilities should be completed in compliment with Medical School and University priorities.

Job Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of skills and experience.
  • Experience in higher education, non-profit work preferred.
  • Experience in a medical or science background is preferred.

Job Competencies

  • Possesses a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive campus community
  • Proven skills in narrative and persuasive writing.
  • Good research, interview and interpersonal skills are essential. Excellent phone manner.
  • Computer and information management skills required: proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,) data management skills, internet research skills.
  • Positive, customer service attitude when working with various individuals and committees.
  • Superior multi-tasking and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality for all donor information.
  • Experience working on team and independent projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent project management skills, including organization, time management, and interpersonal and client service skills.
  • Ability to research, analyze and summarize information.
