Job Description:

The Development Coordinator provides high-level fundraising and administrative support to the Senior Philanthropic Advisor (SPA) and to a Director of Development (DoD) on the Academic Initiatives (AI) team. The SPA manages a pool of prospects/donors with the capacity to make $5M+ gifts to the University. This position will work with the offices of senior administrators across campus, their support teams, and key volunteers. It will include handling most administrative duties, which include but are not limited to, meeting and travel arrangements, gift/pledge recording accuracy, drafting high-level correspondence and briefings, data management relating to prospect correspondence/interactions and solicitation pipeline, conducting research, providing technical and logistical support to the SPA.

The Development Coordinator also provides comprehensive fundraising and high-level administrative support for the Director of Development assigned to the School of Public Health and the Hassenfeld Child Health Innovation Institute. The coordinator will manage all aspects of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship for the assigned program area including: the major gifts pipeline; track and report on prospect-related interactions, and events involving relevant program directors; provide regular gift reports and analysis pertaining to fundraising; and maintain a repository of proposals to advance Campaign fundraising priorities. In collaboration with the stewardship team and prospect managers, the Coordinator will help ensure appropriate stewardship activities on behalf of the School of Public Health and the Hassenfeld Institute.  In collaboration with the Director of Development, the Coordinator will help manage the related advisory councils and ensure appropriate volunteer/donor engagement relating to the Council’s work.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability with computer software programs including but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheets and CRM. Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word is required.
  • Must have a degree of computer proficiency and Information Management skills to carry out the major responsibilities of this position.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Blackbaud preferred.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a related field, such as higher education, non-profit, development, administrative, sales, customer relations, etc.
