Reporting to the Provost and serving as a key member of the Provost’s senior leadership team, the vice president is the senior executive responsible for information technology across Temple University. The VPIT will develop and implement a clear vision and strategy for information technology in alignment with the mission and strategic direction of the institution. The VPIT will continue to enable the IT organization’s high level of customer service while developing the plan to enhance the IT infrastructure and systems and lead digital transformation initiatives that will bring value and improve the user experience of students, faculty, and administrators. Other important responsibilities include overseeing the cybersecurity of campus resources and data and development of a data governance structure and an analytics environment that allows for access to accurate real time data and reporting. The VPIT will lead the continued enhancement of the IT enterprise by implementing the appropriate technologies to ensure that Temple effectively meets its objectives in education and research.

The VPIT is a critical hire and will join the leadership team at Temple University at a pivotal time of change and opportunity under a dynamic new president. The VPIT will be a mission-driven, innovative executive with a proven track record of leading information technology in a large, complex enterprise, preferably a university. This leader will have strong communication skills and be highly collaborative, establishing trusting relationships across the university. A team-builder, the VPIT must have a solid track record in strategic planning and financial management. The VPIT will be a compassionate leader with the ability to facilitate change and balance resources and priorities effectively. A Bachelor’s degree is required and a Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, business administration, or related field is preferred.
