Quincy University — Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs

Quincy University (QU) seeks a strategic, innovative, and collaborative leader as its Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA). Located in Quincy, Illinois, QU stands as a Catholic, independent, liberal arts institution of higher learning in the Franciscan tradition. 

QU offers forty-plus undergraduate majors and nine pre-professional programs as well as graduate degrees in Business (MBA), Counseling (M.S.Ed. in Counseling), and Education (M.S.Ed.) in the Schools of: Fine Arts & Communications, Humanities, Education & Human Services, Science & Technology, and the Oakley School of Business. The nursing program is offered through a partnership with the Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing and Health Sciences.  Degrees in Aviation are offered in partnership with Quincy Aviation, LLC.  The Medical Scholars Program at QU provides students with a rare opportunity to gain conditional early acceptance to the Saint Louis University School of Medicine.  

The next Provost & VPAA will join an institution that is experiencing great momentum in enrollment growth, attention to student success, and program and resource development. As a visible and engaged member of the campus community, the Provost & VPAA will partner with the President and his Cabinet to build on that momentum and advance QU’s mission, programs, and reputation. By working collaboratively with, and advocating for, QU’s dedicated and accomplished 55 full-time and 70 part-time faculty, the Provost & VPAA will create new opportunities for programmatic and enrollment growth.

The Provost & VPAA will be responsible for providing visionary leadership for all academic endeavors of QU, including curriculum management, academic strategic planning for academic programs, development and implementation of academic policies and procedures, program review, and academic budgets. Specific leadership opportunities for the Provost & VPAA include:

  • Develop and implement new academic programs consistent with QU’s commitment to student success in the tradition of the liberal arts and professional education
  • Encourage and support all aspects of faculty and staff development and collaboration
  • Empower the deans to assume greater leadership and academic administrative responsibilities
  • Promote QU to all constituencies, internal and external
