Oregon State University — Two Tenure-Track Assistant Professors, Department of Statistics

The Department of Statistics at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon seeks applicants with research interests in any area of statistics for two tenure-track positions at the assistant professor level. We are especially interested in energetic and creative statisticians with a broad range of interests in theoretically sound methodological and collaborative research, and an enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring graduate students. Qualified applicants will have a PhD in Statistics or a closely related field by the start of the appointment in September, 2023. 

The positions involve:

  • Teaching the equivalent of four quarter courses per year, primarily graduate-level courses in Statistics and Data Science
  • Developing a vibrant cross-disciplinary research program with collaborations among College of Science faculty
  • Seeking grant and contract funding 
  • Mentoring MS and PhD students 
  • Fostering an environment of inclusion and diversity 
  • Providing service to the department and institution in support of their missions

We are a collegial department consisting of 14 tenure-track professors with a variety of research interests, four instructors, approximately 15 PhD students, and 20 MS students. In addition to our on- campus graduate programs in Statistics, we offer a popular on-line MS program in Data Analytics.
