The Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) is committed to cultivating a culture a research conducted ethically and with transparency. Education and Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and 1-2 years of related experience / Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and 3 years of related experience

Preferred:

  • Experience working in an academic setting
  • At least 1 year of related experience working in a research compliance setting, either in administration or conducting research
  • Working knowledge of federal regulations protecting human subjects
  • Experience with electronic submission systems

Competencies:

  • Knowledge and practical application of current federal and State regulations regarding  human subjects research and ethical principles, Institutional policies, and HRPP SOPs
  • Ability to handle confidential documents and sensitive information
  • Participation in continuing education and national and/or regional organizations devoted to promoting research ethics and the protection of human subjects
  • Experience with high volumes and rigid deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workloads
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and use judgment and discretion in potentially controversial matters
  • Effective communication, organization, and personal relation skills
  • Ability to work with little supervision and also serve as a strong team member
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Google platforms, Adobe and other commonly used software
  • Ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment
  • Demonstrated ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment.
