Job Description:

In concert with Brown Advancement colleagues, the Associate Director, Sports Foundation Operations oversees the planning and implementation of the Brown Sports Foundation special projects and initiatives that directly impact giving and stewardship. As well, this role manages special projects and initiatives that leverage giving and ensure milestones in the Brown Together campaign are realized.

The Associate Director will serve as an operations specialist focused on the Sports Foundation’s complex structure with over 70 affinity groups spanning varsity and club sports and will develop and implement operational efficiencies and institutional partnerships on behalf of the Sports Foundation and Division of Athletics and Recreation. The position executes an extensive annual stewardship program for the Division of Athletics and Recreation’s donors as part of the $200M(+) BrownTogether athletics campaign goals including annually reporting on 150+ special purpose funds for donors who support the Division of Athletics and Recreation. This role will play a critical role as a liaison to all Brown Advancement Services functions and bodies of work.

The individual will provide operational leadership for all giving days and giving challenges on behalf of the BUSF to support raising over $2M in current-use cash annually for the Division of Athletics and Recreation. The incumbent will implement and manage fundraising volunteer resources, digital platforms and tools, as well as provide strong leadership and oversight for all volunteer training, to enhance a seamless volunteer experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a related field, such as annual giving, fundraising, sales, direct marketing, non-profit and/or athletic setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer software programs necessary to perform the job, including but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheet programs, databases, email programs, and web applications.
  • Excellent computer skills including, but not limited to, word-processing, spreadsheet creation and operations; Ability to work across multiple CRM (Content Relationship Management) platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with database query tools, ARMS, and Blackbaud.
  • Experience with developing/delivering persuasive communications to a varied constituency.
