Brown University — Administrative Coordinator

Job Description:

This position is responsible for providing day-to-day administrative services in support of the department’s faculty and their research projects, Director, Associate Director and Center Manager and providing general office support. This candidate for this position will also be responsible for managing the PPE Center’s social media presence, and work with the Director, Associate Director and Center manager in marketing and communications for the PPE Center.

This position will be responsible for financial coordination of Workday, reimbursements, expense, and travel reports for scholars and student groups.  Maintaining the website, mailing listserv, and assisting with marketing and communication for the program.  Support meeting, maintenance requests, recording/transcribing meeting minutes, and providing back-up support to Center Manager and Grant Coordinators.

Education and Experiences:

  • Associates degree with a minimum of 2-3 years of related administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience in an academic or non-profit setting is preferred.
  • Prior financial experience preferred.
  • ​Experience in communications (i.e. maintaining a website, newsletter, some general communications experience)
  • Experience with managing social media preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Initiative and ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
  • Some financial experience is needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Google platforms.
  • Initiative and ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Experience in communications (i.e. maintaining a website, newsletter, some general communications experience).
