Job Description Summary
The Department of French invites applications for a Lecturer in French to begin July 2023. The successful candidate will teach beginning, intermediate and advanced language courses, and engage in service to the College, University and the profession. Six courses per annum. Lecturers are reviewed in their third year of full-time service, with the possibility for reappointment and consideration for promotion in the seventh year; subsequent reviews typically occur on a seven-year cycle. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in French, a strong record of scholarly activity, at least five years teaching experience at the undergraduate level, and a record of service to the profession. Specialization in modern French and/or Francophone literature is desirable, and candidates whose research involves the study of race, gender and/or ethnicity are encouraged to apply.
