Communications Intern- Brown Dining Services
Reports to: Hannah Gomez, Communications and Outreach Manager
Time Commitment: Maximum 20 hours per week

Under the direction of the Communications and Outreach Manager, this position will dive deeply in the creative aspects of developing marketing material such as social media posts and print signage. The Communications intern will also research the brand standards of Brown University and be required to implement them correctly into communication pieces. The intern will take part in assisting with event planning with the dining team from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have a passion for learning, communicating, marketing, and food! This position will report directly to the Brown University Dining Services Communications and Outreach Manager.


  • Assist with menu ideas and printing
  • Create, post, and manage marketing material on social media
  • Create marketing signage
  • Assist in writing and publishing announcements and email forms of communication
  • Collaborate with staff on new ideas and tools for marketing and communications
  • Overall event support such as set up and decoration


  • Must be enrolled in communications or marketing field of study
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Familiarity with with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work well independently, and within a team
  • Possess strong writing and oral communication skills
  • Genuine enthusiasm for creating compelling marketing materials to support Brown Dining Services
  • Possesses a willingness to promote a diverse and inclusive campus community
