The Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Genetics (www.virginia.edu/bmg) and the University of Virginia Cancer Center, one of 52 National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the nation, seek to expand their cancer research faculty. We invite applicants for Assistant and Associate Professor tenure-track appointments, who address contemporary problems in cancer biology, particularly in the areas of chromosome structure, genome instability and aneuploidy. Research programs with a significant bioinformatics component will be prioritized.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D. in the life sciences or in computational biology by the start date of the appointment and must have demonstrated the capacity to establish and maintain a high-quality independent research program and to attract extramural research funding. Support will include a start-up package, laboratory space, and an exceptionally interactive research environment. Clinically qualified applicants will be considered for a joint appointment in the appropriate clinical department.
