The Maintenance Planner & Scheduler assists with planning, coordinating and scheduling preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance program work activities for University buildings and building equipment assets. The Planner & Scheduler aids in organizing the logistics necessary to operate the maintenance program and creates reports and metrics necessary to evaluate program quality and program effectiveness.

Job Qualifications & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical related field with 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and building controls in the operation of buildings systems or an equivalent relative area of transferable knowledge
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance systems and industry standards and the ability to schedule, and coordinate preventive maintenance programs
  • Ability to read & understand building and mechanical/electrical/plumbing drawings to identify equipment for upload into the maintenance equipment database
  • Working knowledge of work order systems and computerized maintenance management systems (IWMS or CMMS) software or an equivalent area of transferable knowledge
  • Ability to develop reports on available date using data reporting software tools
  • Ability to use standard Microsoft software applications (e.g., Excel, Word, email, etc.)
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail and to document procedural information with accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Ability to use independent judgment
  • Ability to examine operations practices and procedures to develop best practices, and make suggestions to develop and implement new strategies and procedures
  • Understanding of supply chain delivery concepts
  • Experience with work quality verification processes and procedures
  • Possess a willingness and ability to support and promote a diverse and inclusive campus community.

Additional physical demands and working conditions:

  • Ability to stand for extended time periods
  • Ability to climb a ladder or traverse elevated work platforms
  • Ability to perform work while wearing PPE and observing OSHA guidelines
  • Ability to work around machinery and/or rotating equipment
  • This position is classified as hybrid eligible.
