Brown University — Administrative Coordinator

Job Description:

The Administrative Coordinator position is responsible for providing the day to day administrative support and general operational needs to department faculty, manager, staff, post docs and students. The Administrative Coordinator serves as a point of contact for all calls and visitors to the department. Responsibilities and tasks include monitoring main phone line, overseeing the department seminar series which involves internal/external guest speakers, coordinating visits, managing the conference room calendar, coordinating logistical support for meetings, events, and conferences, assisting with travel plans and expense reports, processing purchase requests, ordering, maintenance requests, reconciling, and providing back-up support to other administrative staff as needed.

Job qualifications:

  • Associates Degree with a minimum of 2-3 years of related administrative experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
  • Experience in an academic or non-profit setting preferred.
  • Prior financial experience preferred.
  • Experience with Workday a plus but not required.

  • Attention to detail; forward-thinking and proactive approach to work.
