Twinette Johnson Selected to Lead the University of the District of Columbia Law School

Twinette Johnson has been appointed acting dean of the David A. Clarke School of Law at the University of the District of Columbia, effective August 1. Dr. Johnson is currently the associate dean for academic affairs and will step into the leadership role upon the resignation of current Dean Renée Hutchins, who was recently appointed the next dean of the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. I look forward to serving the law school community as we continue to deliver the quality education and professional training that make these outcomes possible while affirming our commitment to diversity, access, and opportunity.”

Prior to joining the faculty in 2017, Professor Johnson was an associate professor of law and director of the Academic Success Program at Southern Illinois University School of Law. Professor Johnson’s research interests include higher education access policy and learning theory models in legal education.

Dr. Johnson holds a bachelor’s degree in English and a Ph.D. from Saint Louis University. She earned a juris doctorate at Tulane University in New Orleans.
