Summary
This position works collaboratively with all associate, assistant deans and directors in the College of Medicine’s Office of Medical Education and the Office of the Dean to support curriculum related projects and initiatives.

Starting Salary Range: $46,300-$51,000

Principal Functional Responsibilities

1. PROJECT SUPPORT FOR CURRICULAR INTIATIVES
Provide support for curricular initiatives and projects to ensure effective and efficient completion. This will include but is not limited to:

  • Preparation of reports and documentation to support new and current curricular initiatives.
  • Coordination and acquisition of data from both internal and external constituents.
  • Support of annual course review process including data collection, timeline management and outcomes tracking in compliance with COM policies and LCME standards, in collaboration with other members of the Medical Education team.
  • In collaboration with the Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education (SADME), development and maintenance of an annual calendar of core deliverables for the Medical Education team.

2. ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
Act as key administrative support for the SADME and provide limited scheduling and administrative support to the SADME’s direct reports. Initiate prompt response and follow-up action and communications on behalf of the SADME. Represent the department and NEOMED within and outside the university (local, regional and/or national). Act as liaison between the Office of Medical Education and Colleges/Departments. Work collaboratively with the Dean’s office administrative staff, including: front desk/reception area coverage; coverage of critical meetings to ensure accurate creation and retention of meeting minutes, action items, and future agenda items and team goal setting; General and varied administrative support includes but is not limited to:

  • Scheduling of meetings
  • Travel arrangements
  • Event and meeting coordination
  • Agenda creation
  • Interview itineraries
  • Orientation of new staff and faculty

3. COMMITTEE SUPPORT

  • Support administrative processes for the College of Medicine curriculum committees which includes the following monthly meetings: College of Medicine curriculum committee; the following sub-committees: pre-clerkship curriculum, clinical curriculum, and curriculum evaluation. Support of these committees includes preparation and distribution of meeting agendas and minutes; tracking and follow-up of action items; coordination of committee related events and retreats.
  • Facilitate communication within the College of Medicine and with university departments related to curricular actions, outcomes, polices, quality improvement and LCME standards.
  • Support the development of action plans, resolve problems, implement customer service standards, and assist in determining system improvements and their implementation.

4. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education/Degrees: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred or equivalent of education and experience required. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum three years of related experience preferred.
