This faculty position will be responsible for teaching college-level business administration courses to 100-level and 200-level transfer and professional-technical students. The primary teaching assignments may include courses such as Introduction to Business, Retail Management and other business administration courses. Instructional assignments will primarily be assigned during the regular business hours of the College and may also include occasional evening classes.

In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will advise students, assist with assessment of current instructional methods, develop programs, outcomes, and curricula, and participate in Shoreline governance, department, division, industry-focused advisory meetings, and campus-related professional activities. This position will also lead experiential learning activities such as DECA to help students apply their business skills.

Faculty at Shoreline will have an array of students from differing programs in their classroom, including professional technical and university transfers. Shoreline seeks a candidate that can identify and mitigate the barriers to success that many students face and be passionate about creating an equitable learning environment that supports success for all students.   • Masters' degree in Business, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, or Public Administration, or related discipline from an accredited institution OR equivalent combination of education/experience
  • Experience teaching in a higher education environment OR experience in an industry related to Business Administration


  • Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) principles applicable to teaching, student support, and curriculum development
  • Higher education instructional environment
  • Effective methods and best practices when teaching adult learners
  • Field-based learning, internships, and fostering student engagement on campus/outside of the classroom
  • Microsoft Office programs, learning management systems and other appropriate instructional technologies aligned with business standards

  • Imparting excitement and enthusiasm into the instruction around sectors of Business Administration
  • Effective oral/written communication with individuals at all levels inside and outside the College

  • Working effectively with colleagues, students, and others of various cultural/ socio-economic backgrounds

Conditions of Employment
The College is currently in mixed remote operations environment, with some assignments completed in a fully online environment during this time. For remote (online) instruction, faculty will need to provide their own workspace and internet access, noting the College will provide technical equipment and support for online work needs. For on-campus in-person instruction, work is usually performed in a classroom/office space that requires standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time. Faculty typically use computers and media equipment in the work environment.

This is a full-time, tenure track position, with a 172-day annual contract beginning September 22 2022. Salary placement determined by the number of qualifying years of teaching/work experience combined with educational preparation. Hiring of this position is contingent upon available funding as determined by the College President.
NOTE: This position may be eligible to receive annual stipends in addition to the annual salary amount determined by salary placement and contingent upon continued allocation of the State of Washington High Demand funding.
