Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Instructional Designer. Reporting to the Assistant Director Instructional Design & Educational Technology, this position will support the instructional design and instructional technology needs of the campus. The position is responsible for training on instructional technologies, faculty development support and course design guidance and assistance.

The Instructional Designer provides faculty support in the application of learning theory to course design, the incorporation of instructional technologies into courses, and assistance in the creation of online courses and materials. The Instructional Designer analyzes and applies trends in learning technologies and instructional design, and works collaboratively with faculty and colleagues in developing and delivering high-quality learning experiences for students.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and two years of related work experience; OR a Master's Degree and one year of related work experience.

Related Experience: Instructional Design, teaching, online learning, higher education and software/technical training

Schedule and Travel

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8-5. This position is subject to occasional travel.

Compensation Grade

B

Total Compensation

The total compensation package includes a competitive salary, moving allowance (if applicable), a rich retirement plan, health insurance options that include dental and vision, life insurance, thirty (30) days of sick leave provided upon start date and two (2) days of sick leave accrued per full month after the first year of service, two (2) days of annual leave accrued each full month, along with many other benefits. As part of the Office of Digital Learning, the Instructional Design & Educational Technology team provides support, training, resources and consultation in course design and development, effective instruction, faculty development, instructional technology, accessibility and the University's WebCampus Learning Management System.
