Position description
The Humanities Program is a core text and writing program that offers five interdisciplinary, chronologically arranged courses in the literature and thought of the Western humanistic tradition to undergraduates in Revelle College. The program emphasizes the development of skills in critical thinking and formal, persuasive writing. The sequence of courses, Humanities 1 through 5, meets the humanities and writing requirement of Revelle College. Instruction in university-level writing is part of all five courses, but students in Humanities 1 and 2 (six units each) receive intensive writing instruction.
Per the AFT Unit 18 Agreement, Applicants internal to the UCSD Department of Humanities who had an appointment in 2021-2022 and apply by the initial review date will be considered before all other applicants.
