Position Summary:
The School of Public Administration at the University of New Mexico invites applications for an Assistant/Associate/Full professor to begin in August 2022. This is a full-time, tenure-track or tenured for Associate and Full Professor, position with specialization in program evaluation. Applicants must have a PhD in Public Administration, Public Affairs, Health Systems Management, Psychology, Public Policy, or closely related social science discipline by date of appointment. Application review will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. For best consideration, all application materials must be received by April 15.

Applications must demonstrate evidence of educational excellence and leadership potential for senior professor applicants. The new faculty member will teach courses for students in the Master of Public Administration and Master of Health Administration, supervise master’s students, and contribute to core, required graduate courses. Secondary areas of teaching include data analytics, nonprofit management, state and local government, leadership, ethics and public management. There will also be opportunity to teach at the undergraduate level.

Minimum

  1. Ph.D. from a nationally accredited university in Public Administration, Public Affairs, Health Systems Management, Psychology, Public Policy, or closely related social science discipline by the start date of appointment.
  2. Evidence of specialization in program evaluation.

Preferred

  1. Demonstrated strength in teaching at the graduate level as evidenced through the submitted CV, cover letter, and references.
  2. Demonstrated potential to develop research programs and publications as evidenced through the submitted CV.
  3. Demonstrated strength in program evaluation as evidenced through the submitted CV and references.
  4. Ability to mentor diverse students at the graduate level as evidenced through the submitted CV and/or letters of recommendation.
  5. Ability to contribute to other core areas in the department as evidenced through the submitted CV and references.
  6. Skilled at bridging theory/academic research to applied contexts.
  7. Interested in contributing to program development
  8. Ability or potential for obtaining extramural funding to support research and teaching as evidenced through the submitted CV.
  9. A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities as evidenced through the submitted CV and/or letters of recommendation.
