Rhode Island College — Assistant Professor, Elementary Education (Generalist) (Tenure Track)

The Elementary Education Department at Rhode Island College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, elementary education generalist position. The Feinstein School of Education and Human Development (FSEHD) annually enrolls 1,000 students in undergraduate and graduate degree and certificate programs, including over 20 teacher preparation programs. As a leading regional public college, RIC is valued for accessible, affordable, high-impact programs and educational practices that prepare Rhode Island’s diverse population. We are known for our work reaching students from all walks of life, including first generation college students, students with disabilities, veterans, and minority groups. Required qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Ed.D in Education
  • Evidence of teaching excellence
  • Other Scholarly/ professional accomplishments in Elementary Education or related field, including cultural competence.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience collaborating and consulting with urban public-school systems.
  • Experience with teaching and/or research in diverse settings with diverse populations
  • Experience teaching linguistically diverse populations or research involving linguistically diverse populations
