Connecticut State Community College — Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

The President of the Connecticut State College & Universities (CSCU) and Interim President of CT State Community College (CT State) invite nominations and applications for the position of Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. This is an executive position that reports to the CT State President. This is an exciting time for Connecticut State Community College (CT State) as Connecticut’s twelve community colleges merge into one singly accredited institution with the goal of sustaining and enhancing education quality, equity, affordability and accessibility.

The vice president will be responsible for providing transformative leadership, vision and direction for critical diversity, equity and inclusion efforts in pursuit of inclusive excellence and the advancement of community college education in the state of Connecticut. Serving as the College’s prominent thought leader and strategist responsible for guiding efforts to   understand and operationalize equity and inclusion throughout all aspects of CT State. The vice president will assist in assessing the political, social, economic and institutional environments for making and implementing policy decisions. 

The 12 Connecticut Community Colleges are merging under the name Connecticut State Community College (CT State). CT State’s first semester of operation will be fall 2023.

Candidates will have a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a shared governance environment and build productive relationships with a broad range of constituents. Candidates should also have experience in strategic planning, budget development and staff supervision with a record of demonstrated integrity, professionalism, good judgment and commitment to transparent leadership, including commitment to staff professional development and wellness.
