Coastal Carolina University — Marketing Coordinator

Kimbel Library at Coastal Carolina University welcomes applications for a Marketing Coordinator. Reporting directly to the Associate University Librarian this position coordinates and directs the social media, marketing, and outreach activities of Library Services. Working closely with the Administrative Coordinator, the Marketing Coordinator is responsible for performing administrative and financial duties. 

Kimbel Library is in the beginning stages of significant change, growth, and opportunity. Construction will soon begin on a new, state-of-the-art library learning complex this year that will host a maker space, data visualization, and VR labs, quickly followed by a ground-up redesign of the existing library facility with newly re-envisioned study spaces featuring a new space for Archives and Special Collections. The library has reorganized areas of operation and is hiring new positions to support this new concept of the 21st century library and its corresponding service models, workflows, and spaces.

Duties will include, but are not limited to: coordinates, oversees, develops, and participates in outreach and marketing activities; coordinates, develops, and oversees creation of promotional materials; develops, oversees, and participates in social media activities; performs administrative and financial duties to support three high impact facilities – Kimbel Library, Bryan Information Commons, and the new academic library/student success building; serves as backup to and in the absence of the Administrative Coordinator; supervise and oversee work performed by graphic design and marketing student assistants; and perform other duties as assigned. 

Requirements: a bachelor’s degree and experience related to the development and dissemination of informational material is required. A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, social media, business, library science, or related field is preferred. Experience with social media, graphic design, event planning, and marketing and knowledge of library services is preferred.

Public Information Coordinator (BC20/61122933/FTE-S00584P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 05. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university. Position requires some weekend and evening hours.
