Coastal Carolina University — Financial Aid Counselor

Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for three (3) Financial Aid Counselors in Financial Aid and Scholarships. 

Duties include, but are not limited to: advises and counsels students and families on college costs, financial aid opportunities, and financial aid eligibility; promotes access to higher education through promotion of financial aid awareness; communicates clearly and concisely to perspective, current, and former students in a variety of mediums; conducts both on and off campus presentations in support of recruitment and enrollment; executes strategic communications plans in place for all Client Services processes; provides comprehensive services to prospective and new students throughout the entire collegiate cycle; assists in processing awards for financial aid applicants through the University’s and Department of Education’s electronic processing systems, including processing applications and corrections, tracking and coding documents, assisting with verification and required coursework, generating tracking letters and award notifications, and awarding funds; helps students avoid deregistration and execute enrollment retention strategies as designed by Financial Aid management; and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, and experience is required. Prior experience in financial aid, admission, student recruitment, student services and/or student life in a college or university setting preferred.

Financial Aid Specialist (AD80/61122785/FTE-S00583P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 04. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university. Minimal overnight travel, some nights and weekends will be required.
