Coastal Carolina University — Accessibility & Disability Services Administrative Assistant

Accessibility & Disability Services at Coastal Carolina University is seeking an Administrative Assistant to staff and manage the ADS front line, including the departmental front desk, main phone line, and general email correspondence. This team member will work with students, staff, faculty, and community members seeking information, support, and connection with ADS. Strong customer service skills are necessary, along with the ability to navigate between tasks and appropriately prioritize competing responsibilities. ADS is part of the Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and the Administrative Assistant will be expected to have an awareness of divisional mission and vision.

Duties include, but are not limited to: serve as primary point of contact for telephone calls and visitors (both internal and external to the University) to Accessibility & Disability Services (ADS); provide administrative support to the staff in Accessibility & Disability Services (ADS); act as liaison for the staff as needed within DDEI, the University, and or the community through effective oral or written communication with various personnel (students, faculty, staff, visitor, etc.); manage internal and external processes related to purchasing and recordkeeping; manage and maintain sensitive information adhering to departmental, University, and external guidelines and expectations; provide support to ADS Coordinator who serves as the primary point of contact for testing accommodation implementation; and perform other duties as assigned. 

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and two (2) years of secretarial/administrative experience involving substantial public contact, multitasking and ability to successfully work in a team setting is required. An associates or bachelor’s degree and/or training in conjunction with the position description and essential skills, knowledge and abilities is preferred.

Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university. Able to work evenings and weekends during peak times of the year.
