Wayne State University — Assistant Professor of Vocal Music Education, Tenure Track

The College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan seeks applicants for appointment as Assistant Professor in Vocal Music Education (Tenure Track) in the Music Department. This position will begin no later than August 18, 2022. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.

The successful candidate will teach vocal music education courses, place and supervise student teachers and coordinate other fieldwork experiences, participate in area recruitment initiatives, serve as a liaison to the College of Education, maintain a significant level of peer-reviewed scholarly activity, develop relationships with local and state music teachers, and serve on Department, College and University committees as appropriate.

The Department seeks candidates with a PhD. in Music Education with an emphasis in Vocal/Choral Music, two years of college-level teaching experience (may include GTA appointments), public school teaching experience in the elementary, middle school or high school environment, a record of peer-reviewed scholarly activity, and experience with current classroom instructional technology.
