The Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences of New York University’s School of Global Public Health invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor/Faculty Fellow. The successful candidate will play a key role in the school’s Intervention Optimization Initiative. The initial appointment will be for one year, renewable annually for a maximum of three years. We welcome candidates with a background in optimization of behavioral and biobehavioral interventions, in particular decision-making based on the results of an optimization trial. A background in Bayesian statistics is strongly preferred.

The objectives of the Intervention Optimization Initiative are to promote and support all types of intervention optimization; establish a community of scholars interested in the science and application of intervention optimization; extend and enhance intervention optimization methods; and disseminate and provide training in current intervention optimization methods. The successful candidate will collaborate on original research on optimization methods; help organize and participate in consulting, webinars, and workshops on intervention optimization; help develop online training materials; participate in writing grant proposals; and in general participate in and facilitate all projects and activities of the Intervention Optimization Initiative.

Qualifications
Applicants must expect to receive their Ph.D. by Fall 2022 or have completed it no more than three years before the start date. We strongly encourage minorities, women, or members of other underrepresented groups to apply.
