Organizational Unit Overview

The School of Theatre and Dance is dedicated to providing undergraduate students with superior, professional training in theatre and dance.  In our rigorous, conservatory-style training within a liberal arts setting, students are taught and mentored by a diverse faculty of active professionals, who work to prepare them intellectually, artistically, and practically, to be leaders in their chosen profession. 

Job Duties

The School of Theatre and Dance is seeking a fixed term Teaching Instructor to begin Fall 2022. This position teaches a 2:2 course load with the remaining 50% covering accompaniment for dance classes (ballet and modern), private coaching, and music directing as needed. This position is responsible for teaching courses in musical theatre performance techniques, advanced audition preparation, and fundamental musicianship. 

Contingent on availability of funds.

Minimum Education/Experience

Master’s degree (MM or MFA) in Music or Musical Theatre required.  Qualifying degrees should be conferred from an appropriately accredited institution.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

Prefer five years of commensurate professional experience.  Preferred skills include improvisation, sight-reading, and experience with a range of repertoires (classical and musical theatre).
