Union College — Visiting Assistant Professor, Mechanical Engineering

The Mechanical Engineering Department at Union College of Schenectady, NY invites applications for a three-year visiting assistant professor position either starting March 2022 or September 2022. A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related field) is required, but applicants close to finishing their Ph.D. will also be considered. We strongly encourage applications from members of groups traditionally underrepresented in the field. Increasing diversity on campus is a top priority for Union, one that is integral to our mission of preparing students for a globally interconnected world. 

The successful candidate will have a strong background in one of our core teaching areas: solid mechanics or thermal fluid sciences. Teaching experience in other areas such as engineering graphics, manufacturing, and control theory are also desired. Candidates with strong research experience and willingness to engage undergraduate students in scholarly research will be favorably considered.
