Organizational Unit Overview
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSDI) offers undergraduate and graduate degrees. There are presently over 200 students with declared majors within the department. The department operates the on-campus ECU Speech-Language and Hearing Clinic. This is a full-service speech and hearing clinic offering a variety of services in speech-language pathology and audiology. The clinic provides 80-100 appointments per week consisting of diagnostic and treatment sessions in speech-language pathology and audiology. The department is CAA-accredited and offers programs leading to BS, MS, AuD, and PhD degrees.

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, College of Allied Health Sciences, is housed in a state-of-the-art building surrounded by the Health Sciences Library, College of Nursing, Brody School of Medicine, School of Dental Medicine and Vidant Medical Center. 

Job Duties
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders in the College of Allied Health Sciences at East Carolina University (ECU) invites applications for a full time, fixed-term, Assistant/Associate Teaching Professor serving our Doctor of Audiology program. This position is renewable in increments of 1-5 years. This position would have primary responsibilities in teaching/instruction with possible specialty clinical instruction and research, and service to the university and profession. Patient care continues during university breaks. Teaching duties to include courses over fall, spring, and summer.

Minimum Education/Experience
PhD with emphasis in audiology or closely-related field

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation
NC licensure or eligibility for audiology licensure; ASHA certification or eligibility for certification 

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
Experience teaching graduate-level audiology courses; expertise in auditory-evoked potentials including early and late potentials and pediatric/newborn assessment, acoustic immittance and otoacoustic emissions, auditory pathologies, and/or vestibular assessment and management; clinical experience and ability to provide patient care while supervising graduate students
