Coastal Carolina University — Assistant Professor of Photography

The Department of Visual Arts at Coastal Carolina University, accredited by NASAD (National Association of Schools of Art and Design), is seeking applications for a full-time position at the level of Assistant Professor in Photography to begin August 2022.

The successful applicant will teach a wide range of undergraduate photography courses including, but not limited to, digital and dark room photography. The ideal candidate will contribute to a diverse department and provide innovative approaches to the medium through teaching, research, and theory; special consideration will be given to candidates with experience in time-based media.

Candidates must hold an MFA/terminal degree in photography with a minimum of two years teaching experience beyond the assistantship level. Candidates should have a successful record of professional activity and research in their field. Salary is nationally competitive.

The Department offers the Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History, Art Studio, and Graphic Design and the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Art and Visual Communication Design as well as a number of minors. This highly collaborative and active department encourages close-knit classroom experiences and promotes experiential learning that highlights faculty areas of expertise and research.
