9-month Tenure-Track Position – Start Date 8/15/2022

The Department of Human Nutrition and Hospitality Management, a growing Department with a thriving faculty, seeks to fill a position in Hospitality Management. The Hospitality Management program offers 4 concentrations: (1) Hotel/Lodging, (2) Food & Beverage, (3) Meetings Management, (4) Sport, Entertainment, & Event Management.The Department is one of five in the College of Human Environmental Sciences at The University of Alabama.

Qualifications:  Applicants should have experience in the hospitality industry, evidence of research productivity, and the ability to teach at the collegiate level. Lodging or event management expertise is preferred. 

  • PhD required in Hospitality Management or related field.
  • Must have completed at least 18 hours of graduate level hospitality courses.

Responsibilities:  Research, teaching and service to articulate the mission of the University including:

  • Conduct research to advance the Hospitality and Tourism disciplines.
  • Seek external grant funding.
  • Teach courses as needed at the undergraduate and graduate level.
  • Recruit, mentor, and advise students.
  • Serve on Department, College, and University committees.
