Northwestern University — Adjunct Lecturer, Media Marketplaces

Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, Media, and Integrated Marketing Communications is seeking a qualified subject matter expert to teach ‘Media Marketplaces’, a critical course in the curriculum taught in Spring (April to June). This course explores paid media as one of the most significant expenses on a marketer’s balance sheet. Students will learn when/how to approach the various paid media marketplaces and then be equipped with the tools to measure efficiency at the front-end of the transaction and the value creation from these investments.

This course will provide an immersion into three fundamentally different paid media marketplaces: Upfronts/Newfronts, Multi-Platform Brand Integrations, and the various Programmatic approaches so that marketing leaders can determine which method fits with their business strategy. The course will also provide an overview of the data science and taxonomies that underlie these marketplaces. Students will have a background in Marketing Finance, Media Foundations, and Data Science Foundations

Qualified candidates must have relevant hands-on experience with emerging media marketplaces. A master’s or doctoral degree in marketing, media, communications, business, or related fields, and experience teaching quantitative courses in media is a plus.

CVs and a list of courses taught should be emailed to Andrew Fish at andrew-fish@northwestern.edu with the subject line “IMC Media Marketplaces” by November 21, 2021.
