Coastal Carolina University — Assistant Director for Interpersonal Violence Prevention & Services

Coastal Carolina University seeks candidates for the Assistant Director for Interpersonal Violence Prevention & Services position in the LiveWell Office. The Assistant Director is a full-time position and serves as a member of the LiveWell Office Team reporting directly to the Director of the LiveWell Office. 

Duties include, but are not limited to: increase university awareness and knowledge on IPV topics such as: healthy relationships, consent, respect, bystander intervention, supporting survivors, on- and off-campus resources and university policies; coordinate workshops, presentations, trainings, guest speakers and other events on these topics; coordinate assessment efforts related to IPV at CCU, including populations for prioritized engagement such as students in historically underrepresented and marginalized groups, adult students, residential students, commuter students, student athletes, and students in Fraternity and Sorority Life; provide supervision and guidance to staff and students who may serve in the area of IPV including any graduate assistants, student workers, and/or peer educators; provide private and trauma-informed advocacy and support services for survivors; helping students learn about their options and rights; assisting with safety planning; providing legal and medical accompaniment; and/or offering academic assistance; work within an anti-oppression framework in consultation with the Community Accountability Review Team, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and Intercultural and Inclusion Student Services as deemed necessary; and perform other duties as assigned. 

Requirements: A bachelor’s degree and experience in health education/prevention work focused on healthy sexuality, sexual misconduct prevention, and dating violence prevention education is required. Experience in advocacy work with survivors of sexual violence and relationship abuse is also required. A master’s degree in Higher Education, Public Health, Counseling, Social Work, or other relevant professional field and experience in a university setting are preferred.
