Ball State University — Senior Academic Advisors

Ball State University welcomes applications for four Senior Academic Advisors.

This position will provide support for the academic success of approximately 300 undergraduate students and serve as a liaison to other support services across campus. Working together collaboratively with other student success professionals in University College, the Senior Academic Advisor position will provide leadership, develop programming, and help to align student academic services with the University’s strategic plan.

Minimum Qualifications:  Master’s degree from an accredited institution; Three years of experience in academic advising, student services, counseling, or related field in higher education.

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship. 

Preferred Qualifications: More than three years working in a higher education environment; familiarity with Ball State curriculum; familiarity with Banner, EAB Navigate, and Degree Works. Ability to work with faculty, administration, and undergraduate students; ability to work in a collaborative environment and work independently; sensitivity to the needs of a diverse student population; interpersonal/human relations skills; ability to encourage and empower students to make their own decisions; ability to act as an advocate for both the student and the university; ability to identify students’ needs for support services in order to make appropriate referrals; ability to maintain confidentiality.
