Western University of Health Sciences — Chair / Assistant or Associate Professor, Medical Sciences Education

The Department of Medical Sciences Education at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California invites applications from individuals interested in joining our dynamic and growing college. We are actively recruiting a full-time, 12-month, tenure track, or non tenure track chair with a faculty appointment in the College at the Assistant or Associate level. Candidate will ideally have expertise in two or more of the following areas: Departmental Administration including leadership and management skills, Community Outreach, Knowledge of natural sciences including Anatomy and Physiology, Research Methodology, Evidence Based Practice and Budget and Fiscal experience. Faculty responsibilities include teaching, scholarship, research in the applicant’s area of interest, advising graduate students, managing linkage agreements to medical schools, clinical/non-clinical practice, and service. Participation in professional activities is encouraged and supported. Specific assignments are dependent upon program needs.


  • Must have an earned academic Doctoral degree (PhD or EdD). All but dissertation (ABD) candidates will also be considered.
  • Minimum 3 years clinical/teaching experience in a health-related field

Preference will be given to a candidate with one or more of the following:

  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness and/or curriculum development experience in Medical Sciences Education
  • Clinical or non-clinical work experience
  • Experience in supporting and working with BIPOC students, as well as other historically underrepresented and underserved students including GLB, gender expansive students, students of diverse socio-economic, racial/ethnic, and international backgrounds and students with diverse abilities.
  • Evidence of scholarly activity, publications and procurement of funding

Salary and rank will be based upon documented relevant experience and qualifications.
