University of Dayton — Senior Systems Administrator, CPS

The Senior Systems Administrator – CPS position is an exciting opportunity to join the College of Arts and Sciences’ IT team. While this position reports to the IT Director for the College and is involved in various projects, its primary responsibility is to directly support the academics and research of the Department of Computer Science. This position will have a dedicated office located near to the Department of Computer Science in the brand-new, state-of-the-art Jessie S. Hathcock Hall.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • Two years’ experience in software development team role or two years in IT customer support services
  • Proven ability to learn new concepts quickly
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s of Science in Computer Science or a related degree
  • Two years’ experience programming (e.g. Python, C/C++, Java) and scripting (e.g. AppleScript, PowerShell, shell scripts) in software development team role
  • Two years’ experience provisioning and administering Windows, Linux, and/or macOS workstations and servers
  • Two years in IT customer support services
  • Five years relevant professional experience
  • Experience troubleshooting first level network connectivity, printing, and hardware issues
  • Experience in higher education environment
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated and successful experience working with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to a Catholic and Marianist work environment
