Job Summary

The Project Manager in the Office of the Chancellor provides high-level project management and policy analysis support on a range of issues related to the work of the Chancellor and in collaboration with other senior leaders. The Project Manager will be responsible for analyzing internal and external data to support decision-making, drafting official documents and written communication, supporting presentation development for high-level meetings, supporting and leading workgroups and committees focused on specific issues, maintaining internal documentation that furthers collaboration and accountability across offices and divisions, stewarding projects with campus-wide impact, and supporting and contributing to strategic work to support the university's goals and mission.

Salary Information: Salary Range is: $89,150 – $104,600. Salary commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.

JOB DUTIES
40% Project Management

Develops and implements efficient and effective systems for managing information, projects and communications to ensure accurate and timely responses

Maintains a comprehensive database of initiatives and assignments, to include actions delegated

Independently and collaboratively manages projects of all scales and durations with complex issues and competing priorities

Supports effective use of project management tools to enhance collaboration across offices and progress on shared goals

Supports organizational restructuring and liases with other offices to facilitate executive hiring for positions that report to the Chancellor

Manages in-person and remote events related to projects

35%  Policy Analysis and Writing Support

Investigates issues and problems; pulls and analyzes metrics and data, identifies trends, visualizes data and trends for presentation to a range of audiences, drafts and prepares responses to urgent requests

Researches, compiles and summarizes issues, policies and relevant topics

Contributes to background information, talking points and briefing materials for the Chancellor

Supports the development of presentation strategy and materials for routine and ad-hoc events

15% Committee & Working Group Support

Proposes, leads and / or staffs strategic planning committees, campus-wide and smaller-scale committees, task forces, and working groups

Coordinates monthly and bi-weekly committee meetings, generates reports and identifies action items

Uses influence and project management skills to ensure progress toward outcomes for these groups

5% Collaboration and Relationship Building

Strong commitment to teamwork, support for busy executives, and recognition of the mission of the university as the driver of our work

Commitment to customer service and support for a high level leadership office with responsibility to the entire campus

Develops effective and supportive working relationships with offices across campus to facilitate collaborative work

Establishes and maintains contacts internally and with external constituents for the collection and exchange of data

Makes high level contacts of a sensitive nature, internally and externally, requiring discretion and diplomacy

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
