UCSB Department of Feminist Studies: Senior Scholar in Feminist Studies

The Department of Feminist Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) invites interdisciplinary scholars at the advanced Associate or Full professor rank to apply.

The Department seeks outstanding candidates with exceptional, interdisciplinary research and excellence in teaching and mentoring, and also a clear commitment to enhancing the diversity of the faculty, graduate student community, and our undergraduate program. Demonstrated administrative experience, interest, and vision is crucial; we seek a senior scholar who would play a leadership role in the future. The field of specialty is open, and the position will remain open until filled. We especially invite candidates who will strengthen our concentrations on social justice, new sexualities, and anti-racist scholarship. We are also interested in:

• Environmental justice, including queer and gendered approaches
• Women of Color feminisms, including indigeneity and critiques of settler colonialism
• The politics of the body, including health inequalities, transfeminism, and disabilities
• Productive and sexual labors

The UCSB Division of Social Science is also conducting a separate search for the inaugural director of the Center for Feminist Futures at the Associate or Full professor rank (https://recruit.ap.ucsb.edu/JPF02103). Building on a long tradition of outstanding research and teaching on gender and sexuality at UCSB, the Center will bring together scholars and students to engage in and disseminate publicly facing research that moves us toward gender justice. For this director position, department affiliation is open, with a preference for at least 50% appointment in the Department of Feminist Studies.
